Advocacy Campaigns
From defending biodiversity to reducing climate change impacts, one of the most effective ways to protect Michigan birds is through engaging with and promoting sound environmental policy. Michigan Audubon, within its capacity, works with other conservation organizations, legislators, and grassroots groups to shape and strengthen the state’s environmental laws and regulations, particularly those that impact birds and their habitat. Michigan Audubon staff work frequently with the Michigan Environmental Council, the Michigan Songbird Protection Coalition, and the Michigan League of Conservation Voters to deploy action alerts and advocacy campaigns to citizens concerned with the welfare of birds and habitat.
