Volunteer Event – Native Garden Planting at Capital City Bird Sanctuary

Wednesday, September 30, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

6001 Delta River Drive, Lansing, MI

Please join Michigan Audubon to help plant plugs in a new native plant demonstration garden at their Lansing sanctuary, Capital City Bird Sanctuary, on Wednesday, September 30th from 9am – 6pm (or later, if there is interest). Volunteers can join in at anytime during the day and are welcome to stay as long as they like. We are looking for volunteers with general gardening experience who will use care when planting the native plugs, so this event is likely not suitable for small children. Please bring planting tools such as trowels and bulb planters. If you have any extras that you are willing to bring and let others use, we would really appreciate it. Snacks and drinks will be provided, but you may want to pack a lunch if you plan to stay for a long time.

Capital City Bird Sanctuary is located at 6001 Delta River Drive, Lansing. Limited parking is available at this address, with overflow parking available across the street at Hawk Meadow Park. Please RSVP if you plan to attend so we can be sure to have enough snacks and beverages. Please email Rachelle Roake at RRoake@michiganaudubon.org or call the MA office at 517-580-7364.
