ORNITHOLOGY: AN IN-DEPTH STUDY OF BIRDS  is a great course for novice and intermediate birders alike. It is also a wonderful place for photographers to learn more about their subjects.

The original class has been “streamlined” but it still covers topics including anatomy, physiology, migration, song and flight in the Tuesday evening lectures. Saturday field trips are filled with bird identification, behavior observations and tips on how to find those birds you seek. We usually travel by carpool to our field trip sites.

The class, based in Ann Arbor, consists of 4 weeks of Tuesday evening lectures and Saturday morning field trips, beginning on April 3.  Most field trips begin at 8 AM. We try to end as close to noon as possible. Not everyone makes it to all the classes and field trips. We definitely understand and will do our best to be  be sure you can makeup any topics you miss.

As in previous years, the class size will be limited to 20 individuals. Classes have sold out for 4 years in a row so registering as early as you can is advisable.
