Winter is an excellent time of year to engage in the hobby of backyard bird feeding. Food is a crucial element for a bird’s winter survival; providing birds with the energy, stamina, and nutrition they need to stay warm. This one-hour, educational program will look at the best foods to serve and how to serve them in order to attract the greatest variety of birds right outside your window.

Tips and tricks will be shared in order to have you set-up for success once our summer residents migrate, the days grow shorter and the nights colder.

Laurel Zoet is a naturalist educator and owner of Wild Birds Unlimited of Brighton. Laurel is passionate about connecting people of all ages with the diversity and wonder of the natural phenomenon right in our own backyards.

This event is part of the Michigan Audubon Seminar Series. Seminars are free and open to the public. Sessions take place on the second Monday of each month from 7 – 8 p.m. at the Michigan Audubon office located at 2310 Science Parkway, Suite 200, Okemos, MI 48864.
