The Sunset Coast Birding Trail showcases the diverse birds and natural features of Antrim, Charlevoix, and Emmet counties and benefits the local communities by promoting economic development and environmental stewardship.

The three counties, located in the northwest area of the lower peninsula, host a wide variety of protected areas and habitats that attract a large number of Michigan’s 400-plus bird species.

The SCBT will feature approximately 30 primary sites on www.sunsetcoastbirdingtrail.org, printed map, and with signage on location. Another 30 secondary birding sites will be identified solely on the website.

A trail dedication and ribbon cutting will take place on June 10, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Charlevoix Township Hall (12491 Waller Road, Charlevoix). We will have cake and celebrate! Prior to the dedication, there will be a bird walk from 9-10:45 a.m. at the North Point Nature area adjacent to Mt. McSauba.
