Winter Birding in the Eastern UP
January 19 - January 20
Are you anxious to see a Canada Jay? Hoping to check the Northern Hawk Owl off your list? Then join Michigan Audubon and our skilled birding guide on a birding tour of the Eastern Upper Peninsula on January 19-20, 2019. This caravan adventure will start at Sault Ste. Marie then progress through Chippewa and Mackinac Counties.
The trip is limited to 12 participants and will fill up fast. The fee for the trip is $100 for Michigan Audubon members and $125 for non-members. The trip fee does not include meals or lodging.
This trip is rated EASY – most travel is by car caravan. Foot travel on gravel or paved roadways; the biggest challenge would be that the roads may be snow covered or slippery. Duration of foot travel of less than a mile at a time. Participants need to be able to withstand cold temperatures for periods of 30 minutes.
No membership or renewal fees are included with event tickets. What is the refund policy?
If a tour is cancelled by Michigan Audubon, all paid tour fees will be refunded.
If you must cancel your participation in a Michigan Audubon event, fees are refundable (minus a $25 processing fee) up until one month prior to the tour (December 19, 2018). If the cancellation occurs less than a month before, but more than 2 weeks before the tour, a 50% refund will apply (December 20, 2018 – January 5, 2019). Cancellations occurring less than 2 weeks prior to the tour will forfeit the entire fee (after January 5, 2019). All refund requests must be made in writing and sent via email, or mail to:
