Join Michigan Audubon for a series of free, guided bird walks at locations throughout the Greater Lansing area this spring – every Tuesday from April 16 to May 21! Linnea Rowse, Conservation Program Coordinator, will lead walks to seek out migratory birds in a variety of habitats. Bring your binoculars (some will be available to borrow) and wear weather-appropriate clothing and footwear. Walks are suitable for all ages and any level of birding experience. This is the perfect time of year to enjoy birds in their beautiful spring breeding plumage! These walks will be canceled in the event of heavy rains or thunderstorms.

April 16 | 8 – 10 a.m. | Burchfield Park, 881 Grovenburg Road, Holt, MI 48842. Burchfield Park charges a $3 per vehicle entrance fee for Ingham County residents and a $5 fee for non-residents. Enter the park at the main Burchfield Park entrance, and meet Linnea at the Burchfield trailhead where the Blue/Red Trails begin. Burchfield Park opens for vehicle entrance at 8 a.m. so this bird walk will depart the trailhead at 8:15 a.m. to allow time for you to enter and park your vehicle. We will still watch and listen for birds at the trailhead! Be prepared to walk on paved trails, with comfortable walking shoes.
