Interested in exploring skills helpful to beginning birders? Join us for Birding 101, a workshop that will help you learn the basic skills to get started. Topics will include where and when to go birding, binocular use, identification tips, and much more.

Michigan Audubon is pleased to welcome Dea Armstrong as this month’s workshop leader. Dea got her MS degree from the University of Michigan’s School of Natural Resources in 1998. Recently retired from 17+ years with the Ann Arbor’s Natural Area Preservation division, she continues to be active in the Washtenaw Audubon Society, Huron River Watershed Council, and currently serves on the Michigan Audubon Board of Directors. Her passion for introducing folks of all ages to birding and birds is infectious. For the past 5 years, Dea has co-taught a field ornithology course with Michigan Avian Experience’s Francie Krawcke.

Skilled and deeply passionate on the subject, Dea is one of the best people to introduce you to the world of birding!

Cost: $10
