Sandhill Crane viewing at two of Michigan Audubon’s sanctuaries, Bernard W . Baker Sanctuary in Bellevue and Phyllis Haehlne Memorial Sanctuary in Jackson.

-Bernard W. Baker Bird Sanctuary

The Kiwanis Youth and Conservation Area, overlooking Baker Sanctuary, will be open for crane-viewing on the following days in 2016:

  • October 15 & 16
  • October 22 & 23
  • October 29 & 30
  • November 5 & 6
  • November 12 & 13

Viewing of the Sandhill Cranes from the Kiwanis property takes place between 4PM and dusk.

-Phyllis Haehlne Memorial Sanctuary in Jackson County

The sanctuary is open to the public every day from dawn to dusk for crane viewing. However, on the October and November weekends, a member of the Jackson Audubon Society will be on hand from 4 PM to dusk to assist anyone interested in viewing cranes.
