Senator Peters has been a force to be reckoned with in D.C., fighting hard to protect Michiganders’ right to clean air and water. He recognizes the threat that PFAS and lead in water poses to Michigan’s communities and has been a fierce advocate for these issues in Congress. He and many others pushed forward legislation to aid funding in Flint’s drinking water infrastructure and health care needs which helped thousands of residents during the Flint water crisis. In 2014 we were proud to award Senator Peters for his leadership at our Innovation in Conservation Awards Gala, and we look forward to having him join us for this year’s virtual gala.

We would be delighted if you would join us on this special evening to celebrate leaders who are creating a brighter future for Michigan and our nation. Join us, along with Senator Gary Peters, Representative Elissa Slotkin and Detroit Slam Poet Natasha Miller as we honor three champions for their outstanding leadership on climate and water justice, public health and equity, and addressing the impacts of structural racism: Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist, and Theresa Landrum.
