Event Series Event Series: Chimney Swift Tower Build

Michigan Audubon is seeking volunteers to help build a Chimney Swift tower! This project will benefit Chimney Swift, which are dependent on human structures for nest sites. The tower components have already been built (thanks to volunteer Rick Briscoe!), so we just need to assemble the tower on site, at Kinawa Middle School in Okemos.

All in all, this tower will be approximately 15-feet tall and will support one nesting pair of Chimney Swift during their summer nesting season, or several Chimney Swift (up to 100 if we are lucky!) during their migration. Anyone is welcome to join, with or without experience.

We will meet at the Kinawa Middle School parking area, near the tennis courts. All tools and know-how will be provided. If you are interested, please RSVP to Linnea at lrowse@michiganaudubon.org.

Location: Kinawa Middle School, 1900 Kinawa Dr, Okemos, MI 48864

Dates and Times:
August 24 | 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
August 31 | 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
