Michigan Audubon Chapter Network
Michigan Audubon’s network of local chapters offer community programs and field trips, participate in local, state and national bird counts, and serve as sanctuary stewardship groups. Many chapters are also leaders in local grassroots conservation efforts. We recommend becoming a member of your local chapter to develop your birding skills or to just enjoy the camaraderie of like-minded bird enthusiasts.

Michigan Audubon Chapter of the Year
Founded in 1951 and now with 350 members, Grand Rapids Audubon Club has shown exemplary leadership and innovation this past year. Their five elected officers and nine appointed leaders have created a strong governance structure, guiding a chapter that is active, welcoming, growing and impactful.
They have forged partnerships with schools, libraries, nonprofits, local governments, and corporations—bringing new conservation and educational opportunities to many in the Grand Rapids area. Their efforts range from youth programs and weekly nature walks to trivia nights, Zoo Wildlife Exploration Days and Bioblitz events with Friends of Grand Rapids parks.
For their leadership, innovation, and lasting contributions to both conservation and community, the Grand Rapids Audubon Club is our 2026 Michigan Audubon Chapter of the Year Award recipient.
