Saving Songbirds (Nicole Kvasnovsky)
OBA meetings open at 6:30 PM and talks begin at 7:00 PM.
City of Auburn Hills Community Center – 3350 E Seyburn Dr, Auburn Hills, MI 48326
Each year, countless songbirds suffer injuries due to human-related causes. The Bird Center of Michigan specializes in their rehabilitation while also educating the public on ways to reduce these threats. This lecture will cover the most common reasons birds are admitted to our center, including window collisions, cat attacks, and nest disruptions. We will discuss how these birds are treated, the steps you can take to prevent such incidents, and what to do if you find an injured or orphaned bird. By understanding these challenges and implementing simple preventive measures, we can work together to protect Michigan’s songbirds and support their survival in the wild.
This event was submitted to our community calendar page by an outside organizer and is not a Michigan Audubon event. If you have questions, please reach out to the event organizers or the contact information provided in the event description.
