SUMMARY:Winter Birding in the Eastern U. P.
DESCRIPTION:Birding Tour – Winter Birding in the Eastern U.P.\nJoin Michigan Audubon and tour leader Darrell Lawson on a birding tour of the Eastern Upper Peninsula on February 14 & 15. This caravan adventure will start at Sault Ste. Marie then progress through Chippewa and Mackinac Counties. Last year participants observed Sharp-tailed Grouse dancing on their lek\, Red-breasted Merganser on the waterfront in Sault Ste. Marie\, saw Snowy Owl in the Rudyard area\, a Northern Goshawk in the Dunbar Forest\, and Gray Jays in Hulbert Bog. \nCost\nThe trip is limited to 15 participants and will fill up fast. The fee for the trip is $70 for Michigan Audubon members and $100 for non-members (this fee will include a one-year membership in Michigan Audubon). The trip fee does not include meals or lodging. \nDifficulty\nThis trip is rated EASY – most travel is by car caravan.
