Michigan Audubon and Sandhill Crane Vineyards:
Raise a Glass, Support the Birds!
Michigan Audubon is excited to be partnering with Sandhill Crane Vineyards in Jackson this winter to support bird conservation in Michigan! By making a donation or purchasing artwork by Brian Fritz when you visit the winery, you’re directly contributing to Michigan Audubon’s mission to preserve and protect bird populations across the state. Join us in this meaningful effort to support Michigan’s birds!
Sandhill Crane Vineyards’ Connection to Birds
At Sandhill Crane Vineyards, birds are an endless source of inspiration. The vineyard itself was named after the magnificent Sandhill Cranes that grace the surrounding fields, and visitors can often spot these elegant birds — sometimes even in winter — just outside the winery or at Michigan Audubon’s Phyllis Haehnle Memorial Sanctuary, located only minutes away.
Beyond cranes, the vineyard is home to a diverse array of bird species, including wild turkeys, woodpeckers, bluebirds, sparrows, swallows, hawks, and more. Every visit is an opportunity to experience the wonder of Michigan’s birdlife.
Birding is more than just watching birds — it’s about connecting with nature, sharing stories, and fostering a deeper appreciation for the world around us. We invite you to be part of this special collaboration and support bird conservation with us!
