SUMMARY:COMMUNITY: Hosting Purple Martins — They Need Us
DESCRIPTION:Are you looking for an exciting and educational experience for the whole family? Look no further than Potter Park Zoo’s upcoming presentation and workshop on Purple Martins\, hosted by expert naturalist Penny Briscoe! \nPenny has been advocating for Purple Martins since 2010\, and her backyard colonies have been attracting these friendly and cheerful swallows since 1985. Her recent travels to Amazonia have given her unique insights into their behavior and winter roosting habits. \nDuring her presentation\, Penny will share her vast knowledge of these fascinating birds\, covering their unique nesting requirements and behavior. She’ll also explain why their numbers are declining and how humans can help by providing essential nest cavities. \nJoin us May 7 at 2 p.m. for this event which is included in the price of admission and discover the mesmerizing flying ability of Purple Martins. You’ll be captivated by their aerial acrobatics and delighted by their friendly demeanor toward humans. This is an event not to be missed\, so mark your calendars and come to Potter Park Zoo to experience the wonder of Purple Martins with Penny Briscoe! \nYou can register HERE.\n \n\nThis event was submitted to our community calendar page by an outside organizer and is not a Michigan Audubon event. If you have questions\, please reach out to the event organizers or the contact information provided in the event description.
