SUMMARY:COMMUNITY: Audubon Society of Kalamazoo Monthly Program
DESCRIPTION:ASK monthly meetings are held on the 4th Monday of September-April (except for December) \nA social time begins at 6:30 with the program beginning at 7:00. \nPeople’s Church\, 1758 North 10th Street\, Kalamazoo. \nOn February 22\, John Brenneman\, Senior Avian Biologist at the Kalamazoo Valley Bird Observatory (Kalamazoo Nature Center)\, will show us a peek behind the fence and share some of his work at the Michigan Army National Guard’s Fort Custer Training Center. We will schedule a field trip for a rare opportunity to bird within the facility. \nThis program is geared to all audiences\, and we enthusiastically invite families and nature lovers of any age to join us!  Come at 6:30 PM (new time) for some refreshments and socializing. Snacks and beverages will be provided. It’s helpful if you bring your own cup. The one-hour program will start at 7:00 PM. Handicap parking and access is at either the front or the rear entrance of the building. \nWe will have a simultaneous Zoom link to the meeting for those who can’t make it or feel uncomfortable as yet to attend in person. This link will be available shortly before the meeting in the October newsletter that is emailed to you. We will also be recording the meeting for later viewing. \nAll programs will be Zoomed virtually and also recorded for later viewing. \n\nThis event was submitted to our community calendar page by an outside organizer and is not a Michigan Audubon event. SUMMARY:COMMUNITY: Audubon Society of Kalamazoo - Kal Haven Trail Walks
DESCRIPTION:Tuesdays in April & May – 9:00 AM \nKal Haven Trail\, Kalamazoo \nContinuing the years’ long tradition of Tuesday morning trail walks\, our weekly Kal-Haven Trail walks will be on Tuesdays at 9:00 AM in April and May\, starting April 7. We will meet and start at the trailhead on North 10th Street between G and H Avenues. A few of us walk 2.5 miles to the usually very birdy marsh at 8th Street and then back for a total of 5 miles\, but anyone can cut that short and turn around at any time. There will not be a “leader\,” although someone will be keeping a species list. \nFeel free to arrange your own spotting or shuttling of cars. SUMMARY:COMMUNITY: Grand Rapids Audubon - Weekly Hike at Millennium Park
DESCRIPTION:Weekly Hike at Millennium Park \nThursdays\, 9:00  – 11:00 AM \nMeet at the end of the dead-end section of Veterans Memorial Drive \n3201-3231 Veterans Memorial Dr SW\, Walker\, MI\, 49534 \nHike Millennium Park to see what’s hanging around! \nThe walk meets at the cul de sac of Veterans Memorial Drive about .5 miles east of Maynard SW. It is a 3-4 mile flat walk through a variety of habitats. The walk begins at 8 a.m. May through September and 9:00 a.m. October through April. We do not have a set time limit and walks may last from 2-4 hours depending on what birds are seen as well as the weather. \nThe walk occurs under most weather conditions year round except for major holidays that fall on Thursdays.
