But in Michigan we also have weather and birds! Learn all about how our feathered neighbors and weather influence us\, and how we can influence them. \nMeetings will begin with a social time at 6:30 PM then the member meeting followed by the program starting at 7:00 PM. \nBring recyclables (magazines\, feeders\, etc.) to the program. \nWeather cancellation Policy:  JAS programs and activities will be cancelled if Jackson Schools close. \n\nThis event was submitted to our community calendar page by an outside organizer and is not a Michigan Audubon event. SUMMARY:Haehnle Memorial Sanctuary Thursday Workday
DESCRIPTION:Monthly workdays continue in support of habitat restoration and general maintenance. These are scheduled for the 3rd Thursday of each month. Chad Machinski from Michigan Audubon and Steve Jerant from Jackson Audubon will lead the work. Volunteers can assist from 1:00 to 4 PM. Tools and materials are provided. SUMMARY:Winter Birding in the Eastern U.P. Tour
DESCRIPTION:Are you eager to catch sight of winter finches? Dreaming of spotting Snowy Owls in their element? This winter\, immerse yourself in the magic of Michigan’s Eastern Upper Peninsula with Michigan Audubon’s Winter Birding Tour. \nThis two-day birding adventure takes you on a scenic journey through Sault Ste. Marie\, Chippewa\, and Mackinac counties. Led by experienced guides\, you’ll travel in a car caravan through diverse winter habitats\, where the beauty of the season sets the stage for unforgettable birding moments. \nThe fees for the U.P. birding tour are $175 for Michigan Audubon members and $200 for non-members. Please note that the trip fee does not include meals or lodging. More trip details will be provided to participants upon registration\, and spots are limited. \nThis tour is designed for birders of all levels and rated EASY. You’ll spend most of the time in a car caravan\, with light walking on snow-covered\, gravel\, or paved roads.
