SUMMARY:COMMUNITY: WAS Meeting - The Delisting of the Gray Wolf: A Conservation’s Call to Action
DESCRIPTION:The Delisting of the Gray Wolf:  A Conservation’s Call to Action\n\nGray Wolves were delisted by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services in the entire lower 48 states\, effective January 4\, 2021. Given that the Gray Wolf has viable populations in only a handful of states\, this seems to be an effort to prevent\, not encourage\, further recovery of a still endangered species. Join Washtenaw Audubon’s Conservation Chair\, Cathy Theisen\, DVM\, to examine why this unusual and scientifically unsound interpretation of the Endangered Species Act should be of concern to conservationists\, birders and wildlife watchers everywhere. Zoom link below:\n\nhttps://umich.zoom.us/j/99877609593\nOr dial-in: +1 312 626 6799\nMeeting ID: 998 7760 9593\nNo password\n\n\n\nThis event was submitted to our community calendar page by an outside organizer and is not a Michigan Audubon event. If you have questions\, please reach out to the event organizers or the contact information provided in the event description.

SUMMARY:Michigan Young Birders Network: Virtual Bird Banding
DESCRIPTION:Hey\, Michigan Young Birders Network! Join Mike Bishop for weekly virtual bird banding from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. These sessions offer an up-close look at species with an emphasis on identifying and exploring bird topography and feather wear. \nBird banding is weather dependent and may be canceled at any time. \nThe MYBN aims to connect young birders (13–18 years old) and offer a space for them to share their enthusiasm for the avian world. For more information about bird banding viewing\, join MYBN or contact Education Coordinator Lindsay Cain at lcain@michiganaudubon.org. \nTo join the virtual bird banding presentation\, click the link below and enter the passcode. \nhttps://zoom.us/j/94643290865?pwd=SmY4SG9HTWxnZ3EyQUFDcDE0ZHE3dz09  \nMeeting ID: 946 4329 0865 \nPasscode: Chickadee
