SUMMARY:Mi Bird-Friendly Communities Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Join us Nov. 18 at 2 p.m. for a free webinar to learn about Michigan Audubon’s Mi Bird-friendly Communities program — a suite of urban bird conservation projects focused on reconnecting communities with birds and the environment for the benefit of all! \nThe Mi Bird-friendly Communities program seeks to inspire environmental wonder and stewardship among city residents\, community members\, and local businesses through four programmatic elements: urban conservation education\, species-specific conservation\, native landscaping\, and hazard reduction for migratory birds. Learn how and why to bring bird conservation into your community and your backyard! \nYou can register for the webinar at http://ow.ly/A9Q550CdFof.  \nWe will also be broadcasting the webinar live through our Facebook page and a recording will be made available following the event. \nThe webinar will be presented by Michigan Audubon Conservation Program Coordinator Linnea Rowse. Linnea is an avid birder\, and though she doesn’t like to pick favorites\, she really appreciates the beauty of warblers and the subtlety of flycatchers. She grew up in Minnesota and feels lucky to have parents who encouraged her to get outdoors and got her involved with birding and other outdoor pursuits at an early age. Linnea has been working in the avian conservation field for the past 13 years and has been with Michigan Audubon since June 2018. Michigan Audubon’s core mission aligns well with Linnea’s values — to connect birds and people by employing sound conservation science\, research\, outreach\, and education. \n
