DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the 2018 American Heritage Festival at Woldumar Nature Center – a celebration of history and culture! \nThis annual event features a variety of vendors\, demonstrators\, and performers\, all celebrating the history and traditions of the Lansing area. \nThis FREE* event features tours of the Moon Log Cabin\, horse drawn wagon rides\, pontoon boat rides on the Grand River\, kids crafts\, and much more. \n* There is no admission charge for this event. Donations will be requested at certain activities as a fundraiser for Woldumar’s Environmental Education Programs.

SUMMARY:Capital City Bird Sanctuary Stewardship Workday
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a stewardship workday at Capital City Bird Sanctuary\, northwest of downtown Lansing. This little-known preserve is a great place to spot breeding Eastern Bluebirds\, Rose-breasted Grosbeaks\, Warbling Vireo\, and Eastern Kingbirds. Help us protect this urban nature preserve by removing invasive woody shrubs and encouraging native habitats. \nPlease come prepared for outdoor work; wear long pants\, long sleeves\, close-toed shoes\, and a hat. Bring leather work gloves\, water\, snacks\, insect repellent\, and sunscreen\, although we will have extras on hand. \nThis event is weather dependent.
