DESCRIPTION:Chapter Event – A Wildflower Big Year with Saginaw Valley Audubon Society\nMichael LaValley set out on a “Wildflower Big Year.” This program details his search to photograph as many wildflowers that he could find in one growing season in Mt. Pleasant’s Park system. LaValley is the Education Coordinator for the Isabella Conservation District\, a member of Chippewa Valley Audubon Society\, and the Mid-Mitten chapter of Wild Ones. \nTime: \n7:00 p.m. \nLocation:\nGreen Point Environmental Learning Center\, 3010 Maple Street\, Saginaw\, MI. \nMeetings are open to the pubic. Our mission is to promote an interest in\, knowledge of\, and an appreciation for our natural resources. We wish to present opportunities to accomplish this by our monthly programs\, field trips and bird banding.

DESCRIPTION:“Hometown Habitat\, Stories of Bringing Nature Home”  is a 90-minute environmental education documentary by award-winning director Catherine Zimmerman. The film features renowned entomologist Dr. Douglas Tallamy\, whose research\, books and lectures on the use of non-native plants in landscaping have focused attention on habitat and species loss. The movie highlights projects from around the country where people are working together to reverse this trend and restore habitat for birds\, pollinators\, and all wildlife. \nThis event is free and open to the public so invite your friends!
