SUMMARY:COMMUNITY: Spotted Knapweed Removal at Whitefish Point
DESCRIPTION:Three Shores CISMA (Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area) is looking for volunteers to assist with removing spotted knapweed at Whitefish Point in Paradise\, Michigan\, on July 21 and 28. \nSpotted knapweed pulling will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until approximately 3:30 p.m. Stop by to lend a hand within that time frame and look for crew members wearing Three Shores CISMA shirts or the teardrop banner when you arrive. Garbage bags and extra work gloves will be available to volunteers. \nSpotted knapweed is an invasive plant species that can reduce biodiversity by choking out native vegetation and is present among the dunes at Whitefish Point. \nIf you have questions\, please contact Three Shores CISMA at 906-639-7139 or threeshorescisma@gmail.com. \n\nThis event was submitted to our community calendar page by an outside organizer and is not a Michigan Audubon event. If you have questions\, please reach out to the event organizers or the contact information provided in the event description.
