DESCRIPTION:Conference – Quiet Water Symposium\nThe Quiet Water Symposium celebrates non-motorized outdoor recreation and a shared concern for our Great Lakes Environment. At the Symposium visitors will find presentations by world famous authors\, photographers\, and expedition travelers. Other presentations may cover skills\, safety\, local and distant destinations. There may be presentations on bicycling\, sailing\, diving\, and history. Michigan Audubon will present a workshop on Birding Basics. \nThe Symposium has a wide range of exhibits on the show floor. You will find clubs and nature centers\, including the Michigan Audubon Nature Bookstore. Handcrafted and historic watercraft will be on display. Biking\, hiking and water trails are represented. Conservation and watershed groups are available. A number of outfitters and liveries are represented to support your outdoor adventures. DESCRIPTION:Conference Workshop – Quiet Water Symposium: Starting out Birding\nBecome a better birder at this workshop held at the Quiet Water Symposium.  The morning portion of this workshop will be held indoors and includes\, use of binoculars and field guides\, bird identification\, habitat\, and the when\, where\, and the how’s of finding our feathered friends.  After a lunch break (lunch is not included in the fee) participants will meet with the instructor to briefly visit several booths at the Symposium before putting their new found knowledge to use on a birding walk nearby. \nWorkshop fee (includes price of admission to the Quiet Water Symposium) is $35 for Michigan Audubon and Quiet Waters members; $40 for non-members; $25 for students (must provide student ID). \nRegister for the workshop
