SUMMARY:COMMUNITY: Audubon Society of Kalamazoo - Kal Haven Trail Walks
DESCRIPTION:Tuesdays in April & May – 9:00 AM \nKal Haven Trail\, Kalamazoo \nContinuing the years’ long tradition of Tuesday morning trail walks\, our weekly Kal-Haven Trail walks will be on Tuesdays at 9:00 AM in April and May\, starting April 7. We will meet and start at the trailhead on North 10th Street between G and H Avenues. A few of us walk 2.5 miles to the usually very birdy marsh at 8th Street and then back for a total of 5 miles\, but anyone can cut that short and turn around at any time. There will not be a “leader\,” although someone will be keeping a species list. \nFeel free to arrange your own spotting or shuttling of cars. SUMMARY:COMMUNITY: Jackson Audubon - Muskegon Wastewater & Pools of Calhoun County
DESCRIPTION:Muskegon Wastewater Facility & Pools of Calhoun County \nMuskegon County Wastewater Plant\nDate: Tuesday\, April 21\, 2026 9:30 AM EDT \nJoin us for one of the most favorite birding spots in Michigan:  the Muskegon County Resource Recovery Center.  This facility includes the wastewater treatment pools\, surrounding trails\, and an adjacent landfill.  The center is very bird-friendly. \nThis location can bring in some rarely seen species and large number of waterfowl and gulls.  The plant visit will be followed by lunch at Turk’s Tavern or another venue. \nAn option on our way back to greater Jackson\, Dale Kennedy & Doug White might take us to some Calhoun County water hotspots to find some shorebirds. \nRegistration is required for this event as cars driving on the dikes require a permit.  Registration will OPEN on 04/01 and will close on Friday 04/17.  A carpool will leave from the Jackson area at 8:00 AM. \nTo register\, please email jacksonaudubon@gmail.com or respond to the invitation email.  Advise if you are able to drive. \nEmail jacksonaudubon@gmail.com for more information.  \nMore information:  Muskegon Wastewater Facility & Pools of Calhoun County \n\nThis event was submitted to our community calendar page by an outside organizer and is not a Michigan Audubon event.
