SUMMARY:Capital City Bird Sanctuary Open House
DESCRIPTION:Join Michigan Audubon in a celebration of World Migratory Bird Day and Capital City Bird Sanctuary Open House! World Migratory Bird Day is celebrated worldwide; the 2019 WMBD theme is “Protect Birds: Be the Solution to Plastic Pollution!” Learn about this problem\, and about what you can do at home and in your community to help birds. If you aren’t able to make the event\, download the “Take the Plastic Pledge” sheet to make your commitment toward conservation today. \nBird and nature walks will begin at 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. Family-friendly activities including the Migration Game\, an egg replica display\, and more will be available at the Michigan Audubon event tent throughout the morning. \nMay 4th is also Global Big Day! We will participate as a group by recording what birds we see on the guided bird walk\, and you can participate\, too\, by using eBird throughout the day! For more information on how to contribute to this global-scale snapshot of bird communities\, visit https://ebird.org/news/global-big-day-4-may-2019. \nThis event is free and open to the public. \nThe event tent and parking are located at Hawk Meadow Park\, 6160 Delta River Drive\, Lansing\, MI 48906.
