Lake Bluff Audubon Bird Sanctuary

Activities at Lake Bluff Bird Sanctuary

For 2008, while we are reorganizing and restructuring, the M.E. and Gertrude E. Gray House will be open for tours by appointment only; two weeks advance notice is requested. There may be unscheduled spontaneous tours when staff allows. There is a gift shop with clothing, books, etc. in the house. The three self-guided nature trails are open year-round. The trails are not wheelchair accessible. No dogs/pets are allowed on the grounds; no bikes are allowed on the lawn or trails.

Monthly Meetings

Lake Bluff Bird Sanctuary is happy to be the host for many local groups and organizations, including:

  • Manistee Audubon Society (Man AS)
  • Victorian Quilters Guild
  • American Association of University Women (AAUW)
  • North Country Trail Association, SPW Chapter

Field Trips

Lake Bluff Bird Sanctuary is a popular field trip destination for many local elementary schools.

Weddings and Other Events

The house and grounds at Lake Bluff are available by arrangement for weddings, graduation parties, dinner parties, and receptions. Smoking and alcohol are not permitted.

Chocolate Christmas

The December Chocolate Christmas event, a day long fund raiser, features chocolate treats  as well as a variety of items such as quilts, handmade wreaths and more, all made by local Lake Bluff supporters and volunteers.
