CraneFest is a coordinated effort of the Kiwanis Club of Battle Creek and Michigan Audubon. The festival site is the Kiwanis Youth Conservation Area, overlooking Michigan Audubon's Bernard W. Baker Sanctuary.
The major attraction of the festival is the spectacle of thousands of Sandhill Cranes returning to Baker Sanctuary. The “fly-in” typically begins around 4 PM, with the largest numbers of birds arriving between 5 PM and dusk.
Admission is free with a small parking fee.
