Beginning Birding Workshop

Saturday, March 3 from 9 AM - 3 PM - (EST)
Location: Kellogg Conference Center, East Lansing
Description: Become a better birder with this one-day workshop instructed by Gary Siegrist. During the morning portion, held indoors at the Kellogg Conference Center, topics of discussion will include: use of binoculars and field guides, bird identification, types of habitat, and the when, where, and how of finding our feathered friends. After a lunch break (lunch is not included in the fee) participants will meet with Gary to put their new found knowledge to use on a birding walk around the campus of MSU.

Fee:
$25 + additional fee for non-members

About Gary Siegrist:
Influenced at and early age by his Uncle Bill and Harold Wing, Gary developed a passionate love for birds and for the outdoors in general. He turned that passion into a job and is currently employed by The Dahlem Conservancy as a naturalist at the John and Mary Dahlem Environmental Education Center. He leads birding trips around the state and is a Past President of Michigan and Jackson Audubon and presently a board member of “Saving Birds Thru Habitat” and Jackson Audubon. Gary lives in the beautiful Waterloo Recreation Area with his wife Nancy.
