Labor Day Weekend Nature Getaway

Sponsored by Michigan Audubon

Friday, August 29–Monday September 1, 2008

Cedar Campus, Cedarville, Michigan

Cedarville

Cedar Campus

Our annual Labor Day campout will be held at Cedar Campus, a beautiful 500 acre wooded resort on the shores of Lake Huron and the Straits of Mackinaw. This resort is the perfect location for our campout, as it provides a quiet setting among the northern woods with cool breezes off the lake. Imagine relaxing on the beach as the gentle waves of Lake Huron provide a tranquil serenade. Ranger Steve Mueller will host four days and three nights of outstanding nature adventures.

Daily activities may include birding and wildflower hikes, visits to local nature preserves and interesting geologic features, or a field trip to Drummond Island. Evening presentations, star gazing and fun around the campfire will fill out each day.

Price includes seven meals (breakfast on Saturday through breakfast on Monday), evening snacks, selected lodging for three nights, field trips, children’s activities, evening programs, and activities such as swimming, sailing, kayaking, and canoeing. Daily rates are also available.

For more information about Cedar Campus, check out their website at www.cedarcampus.org. For more information regarding the campout schedule and activities contact Wendy Tatar, program coordinator.
